Informacja w zakresie ochrony danych dla autorów
Uniwersytet Medyczny w Lublinie z siedzibą przy Al. Racławickich 1, 20-059 Lublin, NIP 712-010-69-11, REGON 000288710 (dalej: UM) jako administrator danych osobowych informuje, że dane zgromadzone w Wydawnictwie Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Lublinie będą przetwarzane wyłącznie w celu poprawnej realizacji umowy wydawniczej. Obszarem przetwarzania danych w zbiorze autorów są redakcje czasopism i Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Lublinie, ul. Chodźki 1, 20-093 Lublin, zwany dalej Wydawnictwem.
Dane będą przetwarzane przez ADO na podstawie art. 6 ust. 1 lit b Rozporządzenia Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady (UE)2016/679 z dnia 27 kwietnia 2016 r. w sprawie ochrony osób fizycznych w związku z przetwarzaniem danych osobowych i w sprawie swobodnego przepływu takich danych oraz uchylenia dyrektywy 95/46/WE (tzw. Rozporządzenie Ogólne o Ochronie Danych/RODO), czyli w związku z faktem zawarcia umowy, w szczególności w celach archiwalnych oraz ustalenia i dochodzenia ewentualnych roszczeń, w okresie realizacji celu przetwarzania, a po tym czasie w okresach dopuszczalnych przepisami prawa lub przewidzianych unormowaniami wewnętrznymi ADO.
Zgodnie z art. 15-21 oraz art. 77 Ogólnego Rozporządzenia o Ochronie Danych Osobowych osobie, której dane dotyczą przysługuje prawo dostępu do danych, ich sprostowania, usunięcia lub ograniczenia przetwarzania, prawo do wniesienia sprzeciwu wobec przetwarzania danych oraz wniesienia skargi do organu nadzorczego, a także prawo do przenoszenia danych.
Podanie danych jest dobrowolne, jednak niezbędne dla realizacji celu przetwarzania danych, czyli do prawidłowej realizacji umowy wydawniczej. ADO informuje również, że w oparciu o dane osobowe nie będą podejmowane decyzje w sposób zautomatyzowany, nie będą one przedmiotem sprzedaży ani udostępniania podmiotom zewnętrznym, za wyjątkiem podmiotów i okoliczności ich ujawnienia przewidzianych przepisami prawa.
ADO wyznacza osobę odpowiedzialną za zapewnienie przestrzegania przepisów prawa w zakresie ochrony danych osobowych, z którą można skontaktować się pod adresem e-mail: iod@umlub.pl
1. The Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences publishes articles covering various pharmaceutical (chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, toxicology etc.) and medical sciences. The journal publishes the following articles:
• Research articles
• Review articles
• Short communications
2. The language of all publications is English.
3. Research articles should contain original results of the authors’ own research studies. They should broaden the knowledge in a given area and should be prepared in such a way that another researcher – following directions in the text – would be able to reproduce the experiments, verify the observations, and make conclusions.
4. The volume of an original manuscript or a review should not exceed 8-10 pages, A4 format, double spaced. A short report or an introductory report should contain 3-4 pages, including additional materials (tables, illustrations, summaries, and references, including captions under tables and figures). The Abstract should include maximum 250 words.
5. The author’s/authors’ declaration that the material has not been published elsewhere, or has not been submitted to another publisher, should be attached. A written consent of the head of the department/chair is also required. Moreover, in order that the manuscript could be published, the authors should provide a declaration signed by all the concerned authors, on the contribution of individual authors in preparation of the manuscript (model declaration: ghostwriting).
6. A declaration of no conflict of interests. The author must sign this declaration personally. In the case of a collective work, it is necessary to make a declaration signed by at least the first author. The existence of any relationships must be disclosed to the Editor in the form of a signed, personal statement briefly describing its character. The lack of relationships should be submitted in the form of a signed statement that should read: “I do not declare any relation-ships (conflict of interests) that could affect the objectivity and credibility of the work ...” .
In original works, in which there is presented research on humans or animals, the approval of research ethics committee (Bioethics Committee) should be provided.
7. A statement of the sources of funding of the work. Information concerning occurred possible conflicts of interests and sources of funding is placed on the first page of each article. The authors should indicate funding sources and other types of material and organizational support received from any companies, institutions, organizations or individuals interested in publishing the work.
8. A manuscript in the Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences requires transfer of the copyrights. The form of copyrights transfer will be sent to the authors once the manuscript has been accepted for publication. The authors are required to send original documents in paper form, signed by all the authors of an article. The scans of documents are not accepted.
9. All manuscripts submitted to the Current Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences are reviewed with no guarantee that they would be accepted for publication. Two peer-reviews are normally required for each manuscript (double-blind review); further evaluations will be necessary in case of significant differences between the reviewers. Decisions taken by the Editor of the Section are binding and conclusive. Further reviewing of the rejected manuscripts is not taken into consideration.
10. The Editor of the Section has the right to refuse to publish the manuscript, which concerns studies on animals without acceptance by the appropriate Ethics Committee.
11. The title page should include the following information:
a. Name of the department (institute) where the research was prepared,
b. Author(s)’, full first name(s) and surname(s),
c. Title of the manuscript in English,
d. Corresponding author’s name. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication. Make sure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Contact details must be kept up to date by the corresponding author.
The address and affiliation of the authors should be given in the following way/order:
a. Department (e.g. Department of Pharmacology),
b. Institution (e.g. Medical University of Lublin),
c. Street name and number (without abbreviation “str. or ul.)(e.g. Chodzki 4a),
d. Postal code (20-093),
e. Town/city (e.g. Lublin),
f. Country (e.g. Poland).
The letters in Polish font (e.g. ń, ś, ć, ź) should be written in Latin alphabet (n, s, c, z).
12. The research article should be divided into the following parts:
a. INTRODUCTION (state the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background. Avoid a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results);
b. MATERIALS AND METHODS (concise presentation of the object of studies, the reagents and devices used; the commonly applied techniques should not be discussed but the references should be quoted). If experiments are performed on animals the following statement should be added: „All experiments were carried out according to the National Institute of Health Guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals and the European Council Directive on 24 November 1986 for Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (86/609/EEC), and approved by the Local Ethics Committee.
c. RESULTS (text, tables or other methods presenting the results),
d. DISCUSSION of the results, which is a critical comparison of the studies with the data from the literature,
e. CONCLUSIONS – brief generalization and possibly determination of further directions of studies.
f. REFERENCES – prepared on a separate page, and numbered consecutively in order of appearance in the text (Vancouver reference style). Some sample reference styles are listed below:
Articles in journals (from 1 to 6 authors):

For articles with more than 6 authors, list the first 6 authors and add ‘et al.’

g. ABSTRACTS AND KEYWORDS (in English together with the title of the paper, a maximum of 6 keywords),
h. LEGENDS TO FIGURES marked with Arabic numbers and in the sequence they appear in the text.
i. REFERENCES ARE QUOTED IN THE TEXT, providing the numbers from the list, and not the name and year of publication.
j. ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS. Use only standard abbreviations. Avoid abbreviations in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text.
13. The research or review article may include 15 at the most, and in case of short reports or introductory reports – 5 references.
14. The manuscript should use basic, conventional units of measure or the international system of units (SI).
15. The manuscript should be submitted to the editorial office in two versions: an electronic (compact disc – CD-R) and a printed (original and one copy). The author is responsible for the consistence of the electronic version with the printed one. The electronic version should be prepared in MS Word 97-2003 or 2007 (*.doc; *.docx). The text should be written in Times New Roman (CE), 12 points, with double spacing and the margins of 2.5 cm. The printed copy should be prepared on a white A-4 paper, one side. The paragraphs are to be clearly marked with distinct indentations.
16. Preparation of the figures and tables. Each table/figure should be typed/printed on a separate sheet. Tables should not be submitted as photographs. Each table should be assigned with Arabic numeral, e.g. (Tab. 3) and a brief title. Figures of good quality should be submitted in form of a computer copy. Tables and figures (in an electronic form) should be prepared in MS Word and submitted in *.jpg (jpeg) or *.tif (tiff) formats respectively. TIFF and EPS files, with fonts embedded, are preferred. If scanned, line art should be at a resolution of 800 dpi, and halftones and color at 300 dpi. All color values should be CMYK. Figures should be marked 153 in pencil on the back with Arabic numbers, the top and the bottom, and with the surname of the first author. References to figures and tables should be listed in order of appearance in the text and should be in Arabic numerals in parentheses, e.g. (Fig. 2). No abbreviations should be used in tables. Unintelligible prints with manual corrections and those not satisfying technical requirements will be sent back to the authors.
17. Manuscript submitted to the editorial office is first subjected to linguistic correction. Next, the authors receive their manuscripts with the so-called author’s corrections. Slight changes are possible only at the stage of the editorial process. If the corrected manuscript has more than 5 stylistic and/or grammatical corrections on one page, the author is obliged to complete corrections and send the improved material to the editorial office in the form of a new printed copy and a new electronic version. Corrected manuscripts must be returned within the fixed time. In case the author does not send the corrected manuscript back on time, it means the silent consent for the exclusive correction by the editors (with a small number of errors); in case of a large number of errors and inaccuracies – it means the consent to have the manuscript rejected.
18. The journal accepts only submission charges (of 600 PLN or 135 €) after the articles have been accepted for publication.
19. Authors do not receive royalties for the published articles.
